Workshop
XR Innovator · Experience Designer · Strategic Advisor · Keynote Speaker · Immersive Specialist
Each workshop can be adapted to suit different levels of depth and engagement. Adipat has run workshops across a range of formats from focused keynote sessions lasting 60–90 minutes to half-day workshops of three to four hours, full-day deep dives of six to eight hours and longer multi-session programmes designed for cohorts working through a sustained development or innovation process. This flexibility allows the material to scale from inspiration and strategic reframing through to practical prototyping and implementation.
Workshops by Adipat Virdi:
In addition to keynote work, Adipat Virdi runs highly interactive workshops designed to help teams apply immersive and empathy-led methods in practice. These sessions are collaborative and outcome-oriented, typically delivering prototypes, frameworks or decision-ready concepts within a single day. He has delivered workshop formats with organisations including Meta, Virgin Atlantic, BBC, Qatar Foundation, UCL and major broadcasters.

Immersive Design Fundamentals introduces participants to the underlying architecture of immersive experiences and how these experiences influence human behaviour and not just attention. The session demystifies the idea of “immersion,” moving the conversation beyond technology hype and towards human perception, agency and narrative structure. Participants are introduced to foundational frameworks for experience design and learn how narrative systems can be mapped to real-world decision points and behaviours.
Rather than focusing on technical tools, this workshop explores the core principles that make immersive work effective: how environments shape interpretation, how participation creates meaning and how carefully designed narrative conditions can shift perspective. It is particularly valuable for creative teams, innovation leads and product designers looking to understand immersion as a behavioural and narrative discipline rather than simply a production style.
Narrative as System: Storyworld Design focuses on building story systems that respond to participant choices so that an experience feels alive and dynamic rather than fixed and linear. Participants learn how to design looped narrative paths, decision triggers and branching structures that allow meaning to emerge through interaction. The workshop also explores how emotional arcs can be connected to behavioural outcomes and how spatial and temporal storytelling vectors can be integrated into a coherent experience system.
Through rapid modelling exercises, participants work collaboratively to transform story ideas into prototype blueprints. By the end of the session, they have a clearer understanding of how to move from plot-based thinking to systems-based storytelling. This workshop is particularly suited to theatre producers, VR and AR designers and experience strategists seeking to deepen the responsiveness and agency within their work.
Immersion for Impact examines how the empathy-building power of immersive experiences can be harnessed to address complex social issues. The workshop introduces frameworks that balance ethics and innovation, ensuring that emotionally powerful work is also responsible and considered. Participants explore methods for measuring behavioural and attitudinal change, as well as tools for aligning stakeholders around shared social impact goals.
Rather than framing impact as immediate reaction or awareness-raising alone, this session positions impact as transformation, in essence, a gradual shift in how people understand issues and relate to others. It guides designers and organisations to think about how experiences can foster sustained engagement and reflection. This workshop is particularly relevant for NGOs, universities, and cultural institutions working at the intersection of storytelling and social change.
DTG: Immersive Experience Strategy (Digital Television Group)
Delivered as part of the Digital Television Group programme, this workshop focuses on strategic frameworks for immersive storytelling in enterprise and media contexts. The session combined theoretical grounding with case study analysis, equipping participants with tools to apply immersive logic within broadcast environments, narrative media development and audience engagement strategies.
The workshop explores how immersive storytelling can function as a form of social software, where narrative is understood not only as plot but as a process shaping audience perception and behaviour. It addresses how to design for presence, agency and ethical friction within real-world content formats and how impact-led design can be integrated into media strategy and audience ecosystems. While detailed materials and the full report remain proprietary to the DTG programme, participants leave with practical frameworks and models that can be applied directly within their own organisational contexts. This workshop was particularly suited to media executives, strategy leads and content creators navigating the future of audience engagement.
ES2030 Immersive Leadership Workshop
At the Ecosystems2030 (ES2030) summit, a high-level leadership and innovation forum, Adipat facilitated an immersive thinking session designed to help leaders rethink human-centred innovation through the lens of immersive experience design. Rather than focusing on tools alone, the workshop encouraged cross-disciplinary exploration of how immersive logic can reshape organisational strategy and leadership thinking.
The session examined how immersive principles can be applied to organisational transformation, how immersive design can be used to prototype future ways of working and how human experience goals can be aligned with strategic outcomes. As part of a broader ES2030 programme, the workshop contributed to an ongoing conversation about integrating experience design into future-facing leadership practice. A formal ES2030 report brings together participant outputs, key insights and recommendations for embedding immersive paradigms into evolving innovation ecosystems. This workshop was especially relevant for senior leaders, innovation directors, and change agents working across complex organisations.
BBC: Future of Content Strategy Workshop
Adipat designed and facilitated a strategic innovation session (agile workshop and rapid prototyping) for multiple teams across the BBC focused on exploring the future of content within a media landscape increasingly shaped by immersive forms, interactivity and AI-driven storytelling. The session brought together cross-disciplinary teams to examine how audience expectations, technological capabilities and narrative form are converging, challenging traditional broadcast assumptions and opening pathways toward more participatory, experience-led models of storytelling.
The workshop explored how content formats might evolve beyond linear and episodic structures, how immersive and interactive logic could be integrated into public service storytelling and how innovation strategy could better respond to changing audience behaviours and cultural expectations. The resulting strategy report outlined new creative directions, prototype concepts and structural recommendations for future-facing content development. Following this, Adipat served as Creative Director across five innovation projects that emerged from the report’s recommendations, helping to translate long-term strategic vision into practical, testable storytelling prototypes. This workshop was particularly relevant for broadcasters, commissioners, content strategists and innovation teams navigating the future of media.
Alongside the core and signature workshops, Adipat designs bespoke sessions tailored to specific organisational needs:
Immersive Prototyping and Rapid Playtesting workshops focus on building and testing a rapid prototype within the session itself, allowing teams to move quickly from concept to lived experience and immediate feedback. These are especially useful for development teams and pilot programmes exploring new formats or audience engagement models.
Immersion and Equity: Narrative Justice Design workshops use immersive frameworks to explore bias, equity and multiple viewpoints within decision-making contexts. These sessions help participants understand how narrative structures influence perception and how experience design can surface hidden assumptions. They are particularly suited to DEI teams, public sector partners and research networks working on inclusion, representation, and systemic change.
How Workshops Are Delivered:
Workshops can be delivered either remotely or in person, depending on the needs and location of the organisation. Each session is supported by a collaborative toolkit that may include worksheets, playbooks and narrative mapping tools to help participants apply the ideas in practice. Follow-up support is also available in the form of coaching sessions and project clinics, allowing teams to continue developing their work beyond the initial workshop.
